Don't know how many of you guys have seen this, but I am absolutely loving the art style of the new Prince of Persia. It's downright delicious. IMO, both the paintings and the renderings in the above link are stunning. It's good to see a major AAA game nail down non-photorealistic rendering. Just thought I'd share. As a humble art dabbler, I found the hand-drawn paintings very educational. [smile]
I do not, and never have, liked the edge detection used in this kind of thing. I prefer the results without feature edge illustration in almost all cases.

Also, I did not like the Ubidays 2008 trailer. The motion felt stiff and the NPR wasn't there.

But I am liking it otherwise.

The environment paintings are absolutely amazing. I'm less of a fan for the characters though... I don't like the black edges.
The rigging looks a bit odd on his right arm, and i also don't like the edging. But the texture detailing is very nice.

I like the edge filter and think everything about the game looks stunning. In my opinion it is definitely the right artistic direction for the series to take and I'm really looking forward to playing it [smile]

I don’t like the edging, I think it would be better without it. But I like the characters. I’m curious about Elika and how the two characters will interact during gameplay.
