Fortitude Online is looking for Writing Help, Our Game: Fortitude Online is a browser based civilization building mmog. The game will take place on a website that will host thousands of players whom log into the game world from any internet browser. Players will be in control of a city, which will expand into an empire of which the player will have constant interaction with enemies, allies and advanced co-op play. The player will be immersed in a continually expanding world filled with glorious wonders. This land will be open to the players so they may choose where to begin their adventure of grandeur and establish a base of operations to conquer their enemies and rule the free world. Immigrants will migrate to your empire if you give them what they crave, such as superior technology, a righteous religion, a stable economy, a strong society and/or a powerful military. Construction balance, never-ending exploration, and unique housing will be some of the revolutionary game mechanics that will be introduced. But more than innovation is improvement, fortitude online focuses on improving balanced gameplay, cooperative play, powerful communications, fun society building, fierce competition, navigation, and a thorough economy. We're placing the time period slightly after the American Civil War, although in an alternate world. The world will be the same as ours but will not be based on historical events. Our Request: My Partner and I are perfectly capable of completing such an undertaking on our own, but we are both rubbish at creating a good story background and synopsis. We are looking for a story that comes full circle and makes the game more entertaining. It wouldn't be a lot of work and we are hoping to find somebody who likes to write. how much are you willing to pay me?

I'll just ask you a couple of quick questions here on the thread, so everyone can see the answers, given that (I at least think that) they're quite important:
-Whats the setting/time period?
-What story do you need written? backstory/campaign/other?
-Do you want dialogue for various NPCs or not?
-Do you want races/religions defined?

basically, what exactly do you need written?

and just a couple more about the project, for the sake of my own curiosity:
- are you visually representing many of the aspects, and if so, how? (maps, pictures of different structures, etc)
- will you generally need continued support with the project, or will there be very little updating/patching of it that would require work from a writer?

Depending upon how busy I find myself in the nearest future, and how much you need, I may be able to help out. My writing is by no means amazing, but I think I can quite easily say that it is competent. If you need to see some writing, I'll produce a couple of samples for what you need, and you can let me know if it's sufficient.
