Hi, currently I have a GeForce 8800 GT. While this is a new card, it doesn't seem to cope with some of the extra functionality I require for work I'm doing, wherein I need to be able to do General Purpose GPU stuff. The sorta stuff listed here: http://http.download.nvidia.com/developer/SDK/Individual_Samples/gpgpu_samples.html#Cloth (especially the Stam paper with fluid dynamics). Can anyone point me in the direction of a card that can support these sorts of operations? Should mine be able to and I'm just missing something? Your card is supposed to be able to run this... did you install the latest drivers from NVidia website?

(Also, since you have a GeForce 8800 and want to look into GPGPU you might be interrested by the CUDA library. It seems to be easier to do all the GPGPU stuff than with the previous techniques you had to use before.)

The 8800GT is one of the most powerful cards on the market at the moment, so you definitely should be able to run them.
Turns out i can run them (well, all but one?), I'm just an idiot who doesn't know how to install drivers properly ¬.¬

It's good when your own stupidity is your greatest barrier.

thanks for the replies guys.
