I'm looking for a very, very simple program (at least I think it ought to be simple). However I'm having quite a difficult time locating what I want. I'm looking for a program that will do the following: Listen to the microphone for input. Report on the screen the pitch it heard, in real-time. Continually update it's output as the pitch changes. So for example, if I were to start humming a C, the program would display C, and as soon as the pitch changed ( say a B ), then the display would immediately change to displaying 'B'. Most all I can find is pitch training and ear training software. Does anyone know of something which does this?

What you are looking for is called a tuner. A quick google search gave this for example.
