Rotating lines (and translating them into the screen)

Hi I''ve currently making a game where I have made a grid of lines on the screen. One of my friends asked me if you couldn''t rotate around them so you could see them from any angle. I tried some solutions I made up my self, but it didn''t work (the lines just disappeared.. :-( Now my question is: How do you rotate the view (and maybe translate the lines into the screen on the z-axis) Hope you can help!! the NeHe tutorials showed me really nicely how to do some rotation. u should check em out.
