She sounds like an Alex Toth to me.
Ellie. I like that.

Quote: Edit: As a side note, I think it's bad practice to pick a name around the setting. This generally leads one to think of names that fit into the mold of that world, resulting in very average, sheep-like characters; the person simply doesn't stand out. Instead, I think taking a character (even an average one) and throwing them into an un-average or unfamiliar setting provides better conflict, and thus more interest for the reader.

Agreement!

I'm interested in what you mean by that!

I really don't know. The name just sprung to mind when I read the description. I know people with those names (Alex and Toth, two different people), and something about it made me think of the two of them. It's a short name, and sounds strong, but isn't particularly Nordic.

If you want a Nordic last name, something that ends with sen or son, like Andersen or Larson fits the bill.

Ah. I thought it was a reference to the illustrator Alex Toth.

I'm thinking Ellen Kirschel. It's not Nordic but it's got an edge to it.

Sorry. I'm not a comic book or Cartoon Network fan, so I hadn't heard of that person.
Madison Jenkins.
Alexis Fjord.
Jasmin Örn. (last name means eagle)
Sydney Ström. (swiftly-flowing water)

If you want to give her a "strong" character, I would suggest avoiding girly names like Emma and Sarah. That's because I read an article on the BBC news website that said scientists have discovered that girls that are given girly names are less likely to be "achievers" in life. Whereas girls that are named a more masculine name generally progress further in their career and such. I'm not sure, but I think the top "achieving" name was Alex.

Hope it helps!

If she has nordic featuers, then in my opinion, the name should fit her appearance.

What about "Sonja Ellson"?
I think it doesn't matter what you name your person, what matters is in the main game loop.

How about Cidron, it's Nordic backwards.
Take that, turnip hatin' scum!
