Hi, are there any off-the shelf high definition character models (~30k-50k polys). I checked several 3d exchange sites like turbosquid etc. but there arent any offers for highpoly (photo-realistic with casual/business clothing) characters. Are those kind of models made by contract work from graphics studios? The models are used for realtime rendering but the characters are the only objects drawn so they can be pretty hires. edit: 30-50k ..50polys is hardly high-definition :) [Edited by - youaresomean on November 26, 2007 9:12:53 AM]

Or buy Poser.

Thanks for the poser hint. I check it out.

I've checked the123d before. All but 2 models on that site are low-poly, just 4000 quads and photo-texture. They aren't detailed enough for close-ups.

you should try makehuman
DumitruSorin: Makehuman is quite impressive, but knew it before.

I guess i have to contract a studio/an artist to do a few realistic, detailed models. There doesnt seem to be stock artwork with the quality/detail level i am looking for.

Thanks for your hints anyway.
