BSP help, don't like BSP Tree FAQ
Think you need help about BSP trees.
Think you are stupid.
Think the person who i''m talkin about is me.
Please help.
Hi.My mind is similar to yours, but I know where you are.
Hi,
If you can afford it ($65 until Friday, $95 afterwards), www.gameinstitute.com is running a course on advanced BSP techniques at the moment. It''s currently on the third week of 12, and it''s been excellent so far.
We''ve learnt the theory and code behind a solid leaf-based bsp tree compiler with visibility checks and hints to fast collision detection. Portal generation, PVS and CSG are to come in the weeks ahead...

Yes,
I''m following the same course.
If you guys are wondering where the excellent BSP tutorial of the site of MrGamemaker went, it''s actually the course I''m following now. :-)

How do the lessons work? I''m curious about how you can play catch-up on a course that''s already in progress. (Because I''m interested in several of the courses the offer.)

Hi,
Each week you download a 25-35 page .pdf file with the chapter for that week which tell you all you need to know for that section. A online version is also present with embedded audio notes, and the lecture itself is presented as a slideshow of the major elements of the .pdf with full running commentary by the instructors. For the bsp course, the slideshow takes about 30 minutes from start to finish to listen to. The landscape course one is a bit shorter at about 15-20 minutes per week.
All of the previous weeks material is available throughout the course for you to refer back to. I only added the bsp course as an extra on monday, and I've worked my way through all 3 weeks fairly quickly.
I'm going to to the maths course next, because my maths is rubbish
