Terrain
I was thinking of messing with a terrain engine.
like Earth2150, there is just a grid of coords, each has a set x/z, and you control the y to adjust height.
Any ideas on how i should write this?

Surly you just answered your own question there. I just use an array of Y values and render triangle strips out of them
i use a heightmap generated terrain, built with triangle strips. you can try this or just,as Zadkiel, you can have an array of x,y,z values and render triangles from that !
