making an international class game.
After developing my last game www.sinc-studios.com, I'm about to start working on a new one. I've learnt valuable lessons from the first one. I am asking for any advice any of you may have regarding starting work on an international class 3D action adventure PC game. It will be stand-alone and multiplayer at first then online (Probably not MMO) after a successful release of the stand-alone/LAN multiplayer. I don't want to use the words AAA or next-gen as these have a wide meaning. I want atleast to make the game meet international standards that a publisher would be willing to help my company distribute in the US and Europe. I know good and original gameplay and artwork is essential. I already have the capital to make the game so I won't be asking a publisher to finance it. If you know of another way to do distribution let me know. I think Steam is another option. I program my own engines but I'll use other libraries where necessary e.g. for networking. I'm going to do more research at Sloperama. The time schedule for the game is 7 months. I'll hire extra programmers if necessary. So tell me you advice/experiences. You can also point me to good websites. Thanks.
