Shaping a face with a displacement map?
Hi everyone,
I will try to explain my problem and see if someone could help here.
I need to create a set of tiles (geometry bits that must be able to snap smoothly to create a surface, in my case cubes). I have thought the best thing to shape them and make them fit ok is with a displacement map using the displacement modifier.
I have thought I could create some tiled textures in photoshop and them apply this textures as the displacement map to the top face of each cube, having this way all cubes as a normal one, but with the top face shaped following the displacement map.
Perhaps, I have expressed myself not too much clear if anyone needs any more information let me know and I will try to make things more clear.
P.D. You have to thing that I will use this tiles to create rooms in my game. By the way I´m very new to max, so, it should exist anohter better way to do what I want to do,so, I´m all ears.
