Hi Guys, my needs are simple however I haven't been able to find a solution yet. I need a library that does the following: - move an object from A to B (or along a path of spaced out points) - avoid obstacles (including moving obstacles) This is pretty must a standard RTS requirement (whichout flocking/unit requirements). ie point and click to move a player. The best solution that comes to mind is opensteer. however I don't think it can handle maze situations. ie if a number of objects are tightly grouped together, they may create dead end paths for the steerer. It seems I may also needs some AI to avoid maze situations. Any tips. Anyone else have similar problems? BTW, most AI libs have A*, however i don't believe this is not an A* problem
There are a ton of threads on here where we have hashed out the issues and caveats surrounding group movement through a variety of chokepoints, etc. Search the forum a bit.
