A question about game jobs.

Hi friends! I have finished my degree and I would like working on games, but all jobs (in this website) requiere 2 or 3 years experience, which I don't have. My question is, where can I look for internships about computer games or something like that. Thanks a lot.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.
Sidenote: Wrong forum, the Business forums is probably better. A mod will probably move this soon.

To directly answer your question, just call the games companies in your area/country directly and ask them about internships. Bare in mind that this is not the only site that lists game jobs.

However, if you have finished a degree, then it be worth looking for entry level jobs instead. Even if they only list 2-3 yrs experience only, call them and see if they have any un-advertised entry level positions available. You be surprised how flexible some companies are about experience if you know your stuff.

Take a look at games companies in your area on Gamedev Map. Apply directly to the company whenever you can.

You want an entry level position (which requires no experience). You don't see any ads for those because companies don't advertise - they don't need to because they are always getting applications from entry level people.

They advertise for positions that require experience because there aren't enough experienced people and so they need to advertise to attract them.

Go ahead and phone the developers in your area and ask if they have any entry level positions or internships. - find out the name of the person who deals with recruitment - if they don't have any positions ask if it is OK to submit your resume anyway in case one comes up in the near future.

Then keep in touch with the companies every three to six months - you need to be in the right place at the right time when a position does come up.

Thanks a lot.

The problem is that in my city and country (Valencia, Spain) there is no jobs about games, only about games for mobiles, but I don´t like that.

So, my problem is that I would like to move to another country and I dont know very well hów to do it.
Can anyone tell me his experiences?

Just one question, my final degree project was an open source project which is on the net, here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/colladaloader/

Is that experience?

Thanks a lot, your help is very valuable for me.
Bye bye.

By the way, I´m going to read all your links right now :)

No. When job ads refer to experience, they tend to mean commercial or industry experience. However, it is something to put in your portfolio.

These companies in Spain don't do (just) Mobile games:
Mercury
Oker Factory
Pendulo
Pyro Studios
Zinkia
Digital Legends
Tragnarion

All found in the Gamedev Map link that I posted above.

That's where I took it out of ;) although I couldn't remember whether it was from your column or FAQs.
