I need Help with Lithunwrap
Im new to the whole UVmapping thing. but ive got my model skinned and ready to be put into 3DS max. I save my model in lithunwrap as a 3DS file, and open it in 3DS.
it opens fine but its no longer smoothed and the textures dont show up?
it could be a big problem or something simple because i dont know much about 3DS
I use Cinema 4D, and when I make a .OBj file and import it into Cinema 4D, it works fine.
Any help would realy be apreciated!!
I haven't used Lihtunwrap, but I understand that your problem is with 3D Studio MAX.
To smooth your object in 3DSMAX, select your object > go to the modifiers list> and select Smooth, not MeshSmooth > Noq turn Auto Smoothing on and play with the slider to see results.
After you are done, collapse your modifer stack.
For apllying your texture, open the Material editor by pressing the "M" button on your keyboard> select your model > choose an empty material from the editor and click the little box next to where it says "diffuse" > choose Bitmap > find your texture map > now there's a button that assigns the texture to your model and shows it in your viewport. Find it and, you are done.
I hope I got your question right and this helps.
edit: ps: you can import .OBJ files to 3DSMAX too.
