Hey I've been trying to create some music with Fruity Loops but I've come across a problem. The sound keeps getting all "choppy". The computer "freezes" on and off each second and the music I'm trying to make skips and everything. The CPU usage is at 100!! How can I fix this? I'm not even finished with the first quarter of the song! I've tried to increase the "Buffer legth" from the DirectSound properties to the max... but that didn't help. I have Windows XP (Home Edition).... What can I do??
Certain effects are really, really CPU hungry, so if you have a lot of them it can cause a problem.

A buddy of mine created a track and ended up calling it "Polyfailure" because the effects strained the system so much that it failed and/or crashed the program something like 30 times.

throw table_exception("(? ???)? ? ???");

It's probably the effects like ravyne2000 said

You can disable the effects and then add them back on before you render to an output file. When you render to file, the output file will not be choppy because it does not need to render in real time.
thanks guys :)
You need to increase your buffer length. Go to options > audio settings and slide buffer time all the way up.
