Just a suggestion, why don't you submit it to Download.com site (if not already). Subscribe to their mid-tier service ( I believe it is $10/month ). This way, you have a mechanism to collect money and its hosted on their site.

If people will download the game, you might start getting customer feedback. Which in turn will give you the opportunity to modify the game. Who knows, could be the sleeper hit.

It won't hurt.
If you're in college right now, I would definitely recommend hitting up some of the art students. This industry is all about networking and meeting new people.

Just think how nice it would be to get the game polished and making money. Money that you'll be able to save while you're away doing missionary work. :)

So you guys basically think that redoing the in-game HUD will save this game? If so, that'd be great - all I would need to do would be to get a hold of my copies of Photoshop and TrueSpace.

It looks that way to me. The game plays nicely, and i like the rest of the graphics, but the HUD is rather unimpressive.

Yeah for sure. I think an updated sleeker HUD would go a really long way to saving this game.

If you don't want to contact an artist. I would recommend studying various other game UI's of that sort of genre. Make sure to keep things Hi-res. I would also use icons in place of words in a lot of places.
The sad thing is that I've already submitted to pretty much every viable publisher out there.

Sensible thing to do might be to just put it up on your website, do limited CC processing, and apply the lessons learnt to the next game. If you've already submitted to every publisher out there, re-submitting the same game without fixing their fundamental gripes (i.e. not for our target audience), is unlikely to make you any friends.

Having said that, I notice there's no mention of Reflexive; they might be a better fit for a more hardcore game, once you've fixed up the UI.

Good luck,

But most of those weren't right for your game and wouldn't have published it even with a great front end, so you haven't lost anything there. There may be lots of them but casual sites aren't your market You need to track down those companies that focus on games for gamers.

Fix that UI first then check out http://www.tunasnax.com/view/About_Us/ (set up by the guy who runs Tune Tech. Also just resubmit to those sites that focus on games for gamers (such as Manifesto) but before doing so PHONE them up and explain that you have fixed x, y and z issues and ask if they would be willing/interested in seeing the new version. Do this by phone (make a personal connection) not via email.

Thanks for the advice! Will do. I just need to get my hands on all my software.

If any publisher is reading this, I'm still open . . .
