I'm posting a shot from my 3d terrain "system" (I dare not call it an engine yet... hehe) to get some feedback on what everyone thinks. It's taken from a heightmap I made in bryce, then put into photoshop and saved as a 128x128 RAW image file. Check it out at http://www.domaindlx.com/miketavius/terrain2.gif Edited by - miketavius on April 7, 2001 7:24:57 PM
Nice terrain! I was especially wowed by that white box in the corner. That camera, I mean, wow, it looked so real! Is that realtime?

Hehe

Thanks for the kind word. As far as the terrain, yeah it''s running real-time. I get a good framerate on it.. but I haven''t actually clocked it yet to see. I''m gonna keep posting as I add more to it. If you have any other questions I''d jump at a chance to answer any. The white box in the corner is a special new feature I''m working into the program called "Miketavius is too cheap to register his snapshot program" =).
hiya.. just a little tid-bit on the snap shot thing.. just run your program in a windows, press print screen on your keyboard and then paste it into a paint program such as mspaint or something.. i think that should work.

btw, very nice. i''m also working on a terrain, except it''s randomly generated... check it out.

Miketavius.. pretty good so far..

Wojtos - V-Nice.. shame its random.. lol. if that was loaded from a level file it''d be the start of a pretty kewl engine.

thanks. Thought it can be loaded from a file F2 saves the current map, and F3 loads the last saved map Now i just need a mapeditor However, the loading/saving part isn''t 100% yet.. i think the trees are still a little wacked
