itt-tech game design program part II
sorry if i ask the same question again but im going to be a little more specific. I live in Puerto Rico and they don't teach game design over here, they only teach animation but i dont want to be an animator, i want to be a game designer and my aunt lives near the campus of itt-tech in nashville Tennesee and my parents cant aford to send me to another state and they can't barely pay for the price of itt-tech but dont worry about that and the only way i can study game design is in that school. Now one thing a like about the program is that they teach you the whole game design process and before graduating you have to create a game with a group of people for your final grade at graduation so it im going to ask again what do you suggest go to itt-tech or try to find something else because i dont like programing and all i want to be is a game designer. is the only choice i have and i keep hearing that as long as you work hard you can suceed but with so much bad rep i hear about the schools i get a little scared. if you want go to the itt-tech site and check the clases out and tell me if is good they seem to teach a lot of good stuff and another bad thing is that i don't know a lot about computers so tell me if i need to know a lot about computers? thanks i'll apreciate your honest opinion
In preparing to begin college as Spring semester 2007 approached, I toured ITT Tech's Salt Lake City campus, with their game design program being my chief interest. It turned out to be pretty heavily graphics-oriented (i.e. Animation, modeling). In the end I opted for a Computer Science program at a local university, primarily due to the cost difference.
I've researched a lot of schools, though.. if you aren't too concerned about program cost, my highest recommendation would be Full Sail Institute in Winter Park, Florida. I was actually very interested in the Tempe, Arizona - based University of Advancing Technology (UAT) as well -- their program seems comparable to Full Sail's, and it seems a little more well-rounded (a strong benefit for any college program, in my opinion). But again, for me, cost was the main issue, and in either case I'd have had to leave my home state.
I'd check them both out.

Josue, how many people need to tell you that ITT Tech is a bad idea before you get the point?
Going to a school that offers a degree in "game design" is NOT the only way to learn game design, nor is ITT Tech the only place where you can learn. They're just the only place dishonest enough to pretend they have a program to turn people into successful game designers. Read this. A state college will be less expensive and more useful to you than ITT Tech.
