Hello all, As you may know, I have just released a second demo of my game. I have already contacted and am contacting various publishers about signing a contract for this game. In order to look better for publishers, I think it would help somewhat for my devimg.net thread to have more unique visitors, more comments, and, most importantly, a high number of downloads. So what I was wondering was: Are there any other game development forums like this one which would work well as announcing boards for my demo? Thanks for any help! -synth_cat [Edited by - Obscure on May 1, 2007 5:05:57 PM]

Very few forums (this one included) welcome product announcements (or posts which are thinly disguised promotion). The purpose of sites like this is not to drive traffic to your site but to provide a place for people to discuss. If you want to announce a product you issue a press release; if you want to advertise your product you pay to take out ads on the site. You can of course stick a link in your sig but it need to be attached to a meaningful post.

You haven't put a link in your sig yet ;) People do click on them so its worth doing and most forums don't mind an ad of that form (attached to a post).

Also a good place to go re a press release is http://gamespress.com/ You join up and then you can issue a press release and a load of sites that are members will pick it up and print it. You probably won't get coverage from the big sites as they focus on the big games but you might get quite a few smaller gaming sites picking it up.
