Need some drawing tutorials...
Hi. Does anyone know of any free drawing guides and tutorials? I am going to get some books but for now i am going to need to get my stuff free on the net. I am not talking about computer drawing!! I am talking about real drawing so dont give me a link to the tutorials and downloads section =).
Oh yeah and can some just tell me how to put pictures from paint and stuff on to these forums? I need to know how to do it from my computer though, not from a url.
Take a look at the Freehand Drawing Workshop forum here on gamedev.net.
Hi mmoWoWmkr,
like smr said, its a good idea to take a look at the drawing workshop.
But if you want a free drawing guide, then I can recommend you this:
http://barthost.net/tjnr/angel/AndrewLoomis_funwithpencil.pdf
(direct download)
It's is a free book written by Andrew Loomis, it's aimed to beginners. It will teach you the most basic stuff to a little more advanced stuff.
Also take a look at the Drawing Resources thread, maybe you find something useful...

Well, since I'm not sure you can attach images directly to your posts instead of linking to them, I'm going to have to say that's not an option. However, there are all manner of free image hosts like imageshack where you can upload from your PC to the web, and they even auto-create the link URL for you. Another option could be to open a DeviantArt account and link to your image pages that way.
Hazard Pay :: FPS/RTS in SharpDX (gathering dust, retained for... historical purposes)
DeviantArt :: Because right-brain needs love too (also pretty neglected these days)
If you want real crits, avoid deviant art.
You may want to head over to Conceptart.org however. Beware, you may receive harsh comments but there are litterally hundreds of professional illustrators, animators and concept artists there. You can also put your stuff up here for crits from your fellow gamedevers.
You may also want to pick up one or two George Bridgeman books (about anatomy) and to start life drawing, either in a formal environment or just carry a small sketchbook on the train and draw everything you see. Once you are proficient with pencil and paper, the transition to painting in photoshop or painter will come naturally.
