Looking for a Laptop to Replace Desktop
I have looked far and wide for the Best laptop replacing Desktops(I mean i want something very easy to move around but don't intend to actually use the laptop on my lap). The best desktop replacing laptop i could find is http://www.sagernotebook.com/. I mean these laptops way about 13lbs and if you want to have kid, don't use it on your lap is the best way to describe how powerful these things are. I still have atleast a few more months to wait since I am going to wait for them to release there laptops with video cards that support DX10(i assume they will once Nvidia or ATI does) but just though I ask if you know where else i can get laptops like these for around the same price of cheaper.
You can certainly find them cheaper but you lose a lot on quality. Clevo (most of the laptops sager sells) are quite possibly the best quality laptop out there. You can find them cheaper then at Sager. If you don't mind building your own you could start with a whitebook from R&J Tech and you could buy the CPU, memory, and hard drive from Newegg or somewhere cheaper and save yourself around $100.
Other places to look for Clevo are PowerNotebooks.com (horrible looking website) or XoticPC.com which is where I bought my Asus G1.
The santa rosa chipset should be out next month so if you're willing to wait I'd suggest that.
If you want more information I'd suggest looking around the Notebook Review forums and especially their Sager/Clevo forum if that's the brand you're interested in.

I'd also recommend against going above 17" if you want any portability at all. The Sager 5760 and Sager 5750 (both are Clevo m570u) are both less then 9lbs, a far cry from the 13lb beast you're referring to.
well the thing is i really don't care how heavy is it along is its no too heavy for my to care(i can care 20lbs very easily. When i am on this thing it is going to be on a table of somethign solid. Like i said this is going to replace my desktop so it need to be as powerful as i can get for a laptop.
You can get a 14" that is more then powerful enough for a desktop replacement. You don't need something HUGE anymore. The only thing the 20" gets you is SLI and dual hard drives I believe. It will play games a bit faster then the Sager 5670 but nothing else. With 14 & 15.4" you can get up to a GeForce 7700. Going to 17 you can get a GeForce 7950GTX which is very very fast. The 8XXX line will launch with Santa Rosa. If you really want a massive and hot beast then the one on sager is probably your only option (or the same laptop re-branded on other sites). It's a very niche market.
What about places like VoodooPC. They have custom laptops too. But something makes me think that you may be paying for the paintjob with them.
Still, just another place for you to look at.

They just resell the exact same laptops available at sager/powernotebooks/xoticpc with a fancy paint job and ridiculous markup. I'd definitely stay away from them.
The Voodoo u:734 is $4865.59 when configured with 2GB of ram and a core 2 duo cpu. You can get the exact same laptop with the exact same hardware for $2,609.00 at Sager (Sager NP5760-V). So how much is the paint job worth to you? XoticPC offers complete custom paint jobs on your laptop for around $300 I believe. The exact same laptop goes for $2574.00 on XoticPC.com
I would not pay 4500 for a laptop with custom paint where i can get the same laptop for 2600 and just have it look normal, this is mainly becuase i don't have the money. Now let say i did, i would then spend 4500 on a much better laptop with much better specs
A $4,500 laptop wouldn't be much better. It would be marginally better under certain situations. In general usage you wouldn't be able to notice the difference at all. Do you play games? The 7950GTX in the laptop I was talking about lets you play pretty much any game out there today in it's native resolution (1900x1200) often at max quality. The $4,500 one would probably let you play em all at native resolution at max quality (for now). Unless you're a truly hardcore gamer the larger laptop isn't worth it. The only difference will be number of hard drives (2 vs 3) and the video card (single vs SLI). They can both have the same amount of memory and same CPU.
My question is, why do you want a laptop as a desktop replacement?
How much do you want to move them around? How often are you doing this?
A cheaper and more flexible option, if you just want to be able to easily move from your dorm to home a few times a year would be a small LCD screen, a small case, and build a wire harness and get something you can easily pack everything into and carry with you. It will run you $1000 or so for similar specs to your laptop, give you a nicer keyboard and mouse to work with, and more room to upgrade.
