I downloaded a copy of SOFTIMAGE | XSI Mod Tool v. 4.2 and was wondering if anyone knew of some beginner tutorials. The only ones I have found so far are the ones on the web site which appear to be aimed either at users already familiar with the program or assume that you have a media CD to work with the tutorials. So if anyone could help me out here, it would be much appreciated. Thanks. -AJ

I've owned XSI for some time, bought FND 4.2 back in 2005 and updated to 6.0 back in January.

So far, the Digital Tutors DVD's seem to be the best way to get a hold of the program to me, in partucular the the Game Techniques one. The one they released for free to XSI 6.0 customers is quite good as well.

The Noesis Interactive DVDs I found to be less polished than the Digital Tutors ones, but they are OK.

Finally, I think there are some free VTMs at 3d Buzz that cover the very basics.

I didn't really get much of text tutorials or books (I got a book on XSI 4.2, the online tutorials and the manual of course), I learning a 3D modeling package is something you get easier by watching videos.
