as people have said though, waiting until ATI has a competetive card on the market is probably a good idea, you can't really expect to get a fair price when you only have one vendor to choose from.

Though im getting sick and tired hearing about DX10 this and DX10 that, (its partially nvidias fault aswell ofcourse, marketing the card as a "DX10 card" will definitly help persuade people to waste money on vista)

AMD already have something, it's called CTM (Close To the Metal). It requires a X1800 or X1900 device and like NV's is currently in beta (although it has been talked about at SIGGRAPH this year).

the X1950 XTX only managed to beat the 8800 GTS on some occasions, not the 8800 GTX. The 8800 GTS is cheaper than the X1950 XTX right now and only really looses at FEAR, so that is a little forgivable don't you think ... and the GTX wins every test.

I don't remember where, but I do remember that the X1950XTX beat the 8800GTX on some benchmarks. You don't have to believe me because I'm not sure where I read it, but that's your choice.
