hi ppl, my system is: Win98 se PIII 450 Voodoo 3 3000 (driver: 1.07.00) 196MB RAM when i run lesson 13, "Bitmap Fonts", in windowed mode it runs fine, but when i go into fullscreen mode nothing appears (just a blank screen). Also, my system takes AGES to respond (i have to hold ESC for about 15-20 seconds before it quits). has anyone got any ideas why this is, I was going to use bitmap fonts in a project, but i am now using texture mapped fonts, which add lots of extra processing when used alot (especially with blending on). thanks in advance, Dave
It''s your video card''s fault, I''m almost positive. Voodoo cards are notorious for have poorly implemented OpenGL support. Check ReactorCritical.com for the newest Voodoo 3 drivers (just incase you don''t have the newest, even though 3DFX is dead and no longer making drivers).

As soon as you can (I realize this isn''t always an option) you should replace your Voodoo with anything by nVidia .

I and others have had the same problem with that lesson. I have a AMD K7 Athlon, 128MB SyncDRAM, Voodoo3 1000 lastest drivers available, and the same OS as you. That ESC thing didn''t work for me though, I had to restart my computer but it was cool though, because my video card and stuff was still working.
