Baking with maya how to do it correctly
Hi folks,
I'm making a 3d fps/adventure game and i want my levels to have shadows and correct lighting. I make my models with maya, in maya there is a baking option which i can use. I know how to use that but the problem i have is that i'm in the following situation:
I have this small levelpart, a room with two prisoncells. These prisoncells are seperated with walls.
--------------------- backwall

the * is the light and the room is one triangulated textured object.
the backwall is entirely lit, while according to just my normal sense the light should not reach it. How can i correct this error so that the light lights the room correctly and stops at a wall?
since it is prerendered speed is of no issue for me. Is it mental ray? (i guess the mental ray technique is not a raytracing technique because then i would not have this problem.
any ideas and suggestions are welcome.
greets ghoti
