Hi guys, I am writing on behalf of a young development company. We just finished the demo of our first game Ultra Tubes (www.ultratubes.com). The question is: Is it wise to send our publisher submission now - before the New Year or should we wait for the middle of January of February? If we send our submission now can it have a negative effect? Also if somebody can share some insight into how we could find an agent? Thank you very much in advance.
It shouldn't make any difference if you send it now, it will still take just as long. Obviously as a finished game your doesn't fit exactly with this article but read http://www.obscure.co.uk/the_pitch.shtml and also
http://www.obscure.co.uk/acquisition.shtml for a bit of info on the process.

The holiday season is the biggest selling period for video games but its not the only one. Reguardless of when you submit your game the whole process of getting signed will probably take some time so you may find that your game is ready to hit the shelves at a slow period but the publish would most likely delay it for better timing to maximize sales. Just go for it and see what happens, if you don't like whats happening then put down the blood filled pen. ^^
