As many people have discovered, the web interface for uploading files is a bit shaky - it tends to do things like time out. So, I've sorted out an alternative, which is to upload files via FTP. All you need to do is this:
  1. Register your entry in the usual way, without attaching a download.
  2. Click the 'Modify entry' link to go to the edit page, and read the FTP upload details near the bottom, noting your Entry ID number.
  3. Rename your submission package to that number. Keep the extension the same.
  4. Upload the package to ftp://ftp.gamedev.net/incoming/
  5. Go back to the edit page (refresh/reload) and check that the file size and extension look right
  6. Tick the box and hit submit
There we go. Clunky, but it should be a bit more reliable.

If you're having any problems with this, I'll be around in IRC all night ("Online Chat" in the Community menu) to help fix things up and get everyone uploaded OK.
