Hey, as some may know there is the 3DU contest going on at idevgames.com. I'm very eager to enter, but the 30 day length puts me in position where i can't think of a game to fit the amount of time. Can anyone help me out come up with an idea for something? Thanks, Bronx
One idea I've had is for a game called 'Duo' - in which there is one horizontal line, with a circle in the middle. The circle, acting as a 'fighter', uses the horizontal line as a movement track; targets (bubbles, aliens, etc.) come from the upper or lower sides of the screen, and the player must initially switch between the two sides to gather bonuses and the like. Eventually, one bonus allows the player to fire at both sides at once, reserving the switch feature for the side that needs the most firepower.

what kind of game? 3d is a not enough to start on. a shooter? gameplay? rpg?
1. Have you noticed that nobody particularly likes your feedback, Borkhan?
2. This game will be a 2d shooter that's simple enough to complete in a little less than a month.
3. Duo would have an "arcade" feel and the ability to randomly generate levels and challenges. (I'm not sure if that's possible in 29 days; depends on the programmer)

nobody likes their faults to be pointed out, even if they say so. and did you notice that you levelled the discussion from topic minded to your personal preferences?

and i still think that to produce a game like this till december 18th, without already established team, is a hard task.

btw. spectry, if you feel bad about me,... level my poins... hehe
30 days for one person and one graphic artist isn't hard. Most teams are doing this with one programmer. Also, the submissions aren't meant to be full blown games, only a level or so...

@spectre, I like your idea, but I should of mentioned that game must be 3D.. Its part of the regulations of the contest. Thank anyways :)

Does it have to be true 3d (as in a first-person shooter), or something along the lines of Warcraft III? In the latter case, I'd do something like an isometric shooter, with one simple level and a few basic weapons.

Yeah, I think a 2D game with 3D elements would be ok... But anyways, I have came up with an idea! To keep t simple its similar to a 3D puzzle game. Thanks for the help, I might use your idea for a project after the contest :)
