If you were to load a totally static model into your game, would it be wise to use display lists? Are the benifits so great that you could see a frame increase? Thx L8r, The Rainmaker

I tried display list in my world data, and i didn''t get an increase..., so in my board ( geforce2 mx ) isn''t worth it,

On SOME video cards there is a definate increese in speed. On OTHER video cards there is a definate decreese in speed.
I''ve worked with both display lists, and vertex lists. What I''ve found is that useing eather one or the other or both will or won''t work better on some cards and not others. The result''s I''ve gotten from tests on my GeForce2 MX go as follows (I can''t remember exact numbers)

Display List only = speed increese
Array List only = Better speed increese than Display List Only
Array and Display List = Not as much of a speed increese as display lists only


So to answer you question. Yes and No. But generaly speaking it should be yes.

yea, vertex arrays! Sorry bout not getting terms right! I''m getting kinda burned out. Doing to many things at once. Can''t wait till monday, finally get a day off work.
Anyone ever here of Destiny''s Child? There haveing a concert in town in a couple mo. so work decide to host a lip sink concert to give away free tickets and backstage passes! You know how much of a mess 200+ 12-16 yr old girs can make? It took me and 4 others over an hour to clean that place up enough that we could start to do our normal cleaning. And there''s normaly only 1 person doing that.

To solve the aftershave in the mouth problem...
Stop drinking it! Just kidding.
