Software for making titles

I'm looking for some software to make a bit of customized animated text (something like the blizzard logo for example). Do you know such software? I've googled around and found LiveType, but it's quite large and expensive...

Generally people use Photoshop.

After Effects. It's what the pros use (typically in conjunction with Photoshop and Premiere).

for a free alternative you might want to check out jahshaka
