Texture server software

Hello fellow game developers. This is my first post here =) I've searched around on the net, and tried out some small solutions, but I would like to hear from you, if anyone have know of or have tried any software that works like a texture server. And what is that ? well im sorting all our inhouse texture's on single location on our intranet, and I've begun doing so with creating a logical directory structure, but a directory structure can only do so much. I want some sort of layer over the files, a database hopefully, where I can tag my files with diffrent values, such as brick/wall/window/concrete etc. Now this can be done with any photo manager software out there, such as AcDsee etc etc, but even if those can share thier database between users, tests have showed that they may infact not be the optimal solution when it comes to a production pipeline. What im looking for is something build for this, very fast to tag up the keywords, and hopefully very fast to search even though it's located on a server. As I said, I've searched around for something like this but havent found anything yet that seems to fit our needs. So please drop a line if you know about any software dedicated for doing this. /Magnus L
this is actually a problem i have too. i have a collection of textures that i made (1000+) that are held on my server in thier given directories. but this problem is that certain texture can double as different texture types (such s floor/wall, brick/stone). it would be cool to be able to tag these as (brick, stone, floor, wall) amd be able to bringup all of the textures that fit under any one of those tags. if you find a solution tio be able to do this effectively i would be quite interested.
