What is a "Technical Systems Analyst"?
Hi there everyone (I'm new... ^^;)
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what a "Technical Systems Analyst" does and maybe some of the qualifications you would need to become one? I just got called in for an interview, and I really want to make sure I know my stuff...
Hi Sak,
Every company comes up with its own titles for its positions, and every company sets its own job descriptions for its titled positions. Nobody can tell you what that particular company means by this particular job title except that particular company.
Most likely, it's a computer programming position of some sort - but you already knew that. The title doesn't sound directly game-related. If the company is a game company, maybe they want someone to analyze the market or something, or work on financial technology, or tools.
Good luck with the interview.

Quote: Original post by sakurawingsEither you apply for a job without knowing what it was or someone approached you about the job and you didn't ask them what it was. Both are rather strange and in the former case its probably a little late to ask the company what the job is; but if it is the latter case then contacting them to ask for a full job description would be the best way to find out what THEY think the job is.

Also check out the jobs section of the companies web site - you might well find that the job is listed there. While you are at it read up on the company. See if you can learn what their (publicly stated) ethos for the company is. If they are dedicated to quality and innovation then you need to be too, if they are focused on creativity in a professional environment.... you are too.

I'm guessing you did not apply. They just called you after seeing your resume.
So ask them or visit their website.
"Analyst programmer" means software engineer where I'm from.
"Systems Analyst" could be hw related or software related.
