how to build model from my face image

hi all, i had my face picture, i want build my face model 3D from my face picture, how to do with that? step by step? anybody can help me? Thanks very much, David,
This is probably the wrong forum. You'll need a 3d modeling program like Maya or 3ds Max. All art, no programming.

There isn't anything in D3D/D3DX that would do this sort of thing for you. If you want to do it as an algorithm (e.g. provide any picture(s) and it'll automagically generate a 3D model) then you'll have to implement it yourself. Although my understanding is that its both a complex and active research field.

If you just want to do a one-off and generate a single mesh from a photo then you'll probably want to use an art package like Blender/Milkshape/3DSMax/Maya. In which case this belongs in the 'Visual Arts' forum...

I'll move it for you, but if you did want the former then just flag it up and we can get it moved over to GP&T.

Check out FaceGen. If you supply a frontal photo and a profile shot, it will automatically generate an incredibly realistic model of your head (minus hair) within about 10 minutes. You can then tweak anything that isn't quite perfect.

Make sure you use the camera flash on the photographs.
