Documents/Help/Advice for an Assistant Producer interview
Awesome, do you get to work with Lara? ;) Can you tell her "hi" from me? And tell her breakfast last week at her place was great? :D
Could you now post your own advice on what helped, and what you would have wanted to be more prepared with, for others to find, thus answering your own question? It would be useful to those coming after you.

This is pretty difficult to give much hints, as mentioned by other people, but the most important thing is that the people interviewing me seemed to like me and possibly thought I could work well with them.
It's important to understand what a producer is really, and to do this you can do research on the internet, but the most important is asking questions before and during the interview. Each producer job spec can vary depending on the company (i.e. Publisher is different to Developer, Sports is different to MMORG) and understanding what they would require of you beforehand is the best way to prepare.
Additionally I'd say that a Producers job is difficult as they very often need to learn things quickly and make judgement calls so understanding the genre you'll work on is a must, and make sure that the interviewer understands your passion for it.
I suppose there's the normal interview questions (like your weakness) but being honest and enthusiastic is probably the best. I think making sure that you take in all the information and provide decent responses to situations (even if it's just them telling you want the job entails) is a must because the job involves a great deal of listening and the dealing with that information.
I can't think of anything else right now, I am still learning :-), but I'll be sure to hang around at times and attempt to help anyone else that has questions.
Cheers everyone!
