Displaying all edges in 3dsmax
I've used 3dsmax since version 3.1, and am now on version 8 sp 3. However, during all this time, I haven't figured out a good way to display all the triangle edges within the Edit Mesh modifier. (can't say it's been my main goal, either...) Doing so would be very useful for example when using Turn. What happens is, I create something (say, a box); put the Edit Mesh modifier on it; it will display the edges as visible edges, but the tesselation (triangle edges) are hidden. Doesn't matter if I'm in shaded or wireframe mode; doesn't matter if I turn on "edged faces". When I click on the Visibility tab (the monitor with the cylinder and box up among the modifiers etc), the mesh displays the way I want it -- with all edges visible. However, there is no checkmark to make it always display like that. As soon as I go back to the modifier tab, only "visible" edges are displayed. I've tried searching the help, but no luck so far. I guess I ought to ask this question on Sparks or something -- but does anyone here have a quick answer?
enum Bool { True, False, FileNotFound };
What I usually do is going into the edge submodifier and just select everything. Then they become visible and you can do the edge turning. I haven't been able to find a better way, so if anyone knows I'll be glad to hear it.
Have you tried checking on the "Display All Triangle Edges" and "Use Triangle Strips" within Customize>Preferences>Viewports>Configure Driver ?
If yes, then try next going to the Display tab and unchecking the "Edges Only" option.
This works in my case. (Don't forget to have the "Edged Faces" option on)
