Hello, First of all, for my business coursework i have decided to design a business plan for a basic indie game development business and i need to gather some inforamation from more knowledgeable people so i decided to ask here and on some other communties around for game development. I would be very grateful if anyone can broaden my knowledge on both startup and running costs of a basic indie game develepment business. I have a basic understanding that startup costs would be things like buying a game engine and other various tools needed to create a game but i am unsure on the running costs other than paying to host a website or advertising on websites for the games i create. It would also be very helful if anybody could direct me to some general prices for these running costs or provide some basic costs from their own experience. Also if you have any other things that you think i need to take into account when creating a business plan for this sort of business i would be very grateful if you post them here. Thanks in advance, Ninja Takeshi.
IGDA casual games overview has a fairly broad overview of many different aspects of causal games. There are many other types of games, but that is the most likely route for an new games company with no existing talents.

There are many more resources available through IGDA, and others on gamasutra and other related sites.

Good luck on your paper.
