Warlock awakened:
Warlock awakend: You are a normal farmer when your friend Greg turns up and says that the Zeen have betrayed the kingdom. (The Zeen are creatures that work for the kingdom, they are basicly creatures who have been accepted into the sociaty) And that you should go tell the king that they have made an uprising. You use a range of weapons to kill the Zeen throughout the game. The fastest way to get to the king is by going through lots of citys and different towns. You are confronted by loads of enimeys that get stronger as you level up. (The way you level up is different to most ways. If you use a sword of dagger, that you stab or hit people with, if you do that a lot you will gain a level in meetle. If you use a bow after a while you will go up a level in the ranged skill. And there are many other ways to ttack enmys. I.E: Nature spells and combat spells, ice, fair and water spells, light spells dark spells, all that kind of stuff.) You get to the king and tell him of all the foul creatures that have rebelled against the kingdom. But you find that he alreadys knows that, and why they are doing that. It is because of an evil warlock. You have to kill this warlock to return peace. And who better to do it than you? But when he dies, he sends all these mighty creatures up to kill you. (Along the games you will find people who will want to travel with you, for free or seeking to help you. When you get another person in your group than yourself, it will be called a party) And to defeat all of these creatures and reture to the king, you will need a full party of eight. When you have done this and returned to the king, that is the end of the game. (If i get a good main team, there will be a second game that comes after this one)
Sweet, a second quest and everything!

Alot of the small details seem a bit thrown in, like the fact that your a farmer, and then you go about casting spells and killing things? And there are a few more things like that. You should write out an outline and then fill in the spaces, this just seems thrown togather as you where typing it. Sorry if I'm being a bit critical, it isn't a horrible story, but those details just kill it.

Sounds almost identical to the Dungeon Siege story line, with a few extra technicalities.

Thats what i was thinking as i read over it, while it sounds okay, the storyline or the weapons system isn't unqiue, however it still makes a interesting game to play, and thats what games should be ^.^
Its funny, I read it and say "Holy crap that story is so boring and ridiculously predictable, mundane, and overdone." And then I think to myself "Holy crap thats how bad the stories are for, if not the majority, then at least a good portion of games out there."
I would think of ways to add some sort of interest to the story, whether through unique characters, plot twists, etc. The only game I've ever played (to my recollection) that was good enough to keep me going with not just a so-so story, but a horrendously bad story, was Gladius. But there was no reason for such a bad story.

A good way to add in details to a concept is to read to yourself what you have already written and then play out the game in your head or at least key parts of it. Then think "What am I missing" or "What could be done better" also if you have thought things through in your head you can explain the conept better to other people which from reading your post, I think is what you need to do.
So why is it always the farmer that saves the world?
In plenty of stories I've read a farmer goes on to be a hero. Why? Because you wouldn't expect it from a farmer, because that person has the largest growth potential. But now we do expect it. So why not come from a different angle? What about a circus acrobat or clown? Or even choose between those and a circus magician? The game doesn't have to be about a circus. I mean, this game isn't anything about farming either. But it would be an interesting angle to start from.

lol, when I first saw this thread I swore I thought it said: "Warsong awakened:"
I suspect that Design Dude will reply to this thread stating that his post was in jest, and that it was a commentary on 'save the princess' type of games...
You either believe that within your society more individuals are good than evil, and that by protecting the freedom of individuals within that society you will end up with a society that is as fair as possible, or you believe that within your society more individuals are evil than good, and that by limiting the freedom of individuals within that society you will end up with a society that is as fair as possible.
