(i've searched the resources on the resouce page). i'm looking for some water textures that change gradually to give the impression of moving water... does anyone know where can i find those? thanks, noam
Your best bet is to find an animated water tutorial, and then create your own animated texture from the shader. Its not a very simple thing to do, but you can't expect moving water to be simple. AFAIK water textures are generated procedurally in game engines, just as they are generated procedurally in modelling programs.

thanks, but i don't have photoshop. surely someone has made some textures like that and displays them for free...
Here's a plan, go to: Turbosquid and download one of the free water textures, then in your own art program (it doesnt have to be anything special) animate it.

Method:

- The texture you download is your first frame
- Next, take 5 - 10 pixels width from along the right side, and move them to the left side of the image. Thats your next frame.

Do that for as many frames as you want. The water will have a slidey sideways feel to it, so select a texture which compliments this. Best of luck.
