Schools For Design
I've been working as a software developer for an engineering company for the last 5 years, but my heart has always been in learning animation and design. I live in Houston, Texas and one of the "Arts Institute" is located in my town. My company has said they are willing to sponsor me should I decide to follow this route. Is the Art Institute considered a good school for learning this sort of a trade or does anyone have any other suggestions of schools, hopefully within the lone star state. Thanks.
I just checked out the cirriculum, looks pretty good. See what other people have to say, check out the school. If this is what you want to do, then go for it! You'll get an education and your BFA, and on top of your experience you will be able to do pretty much anything.
Do you have a Bachelors in Computer Science/Engineering already?
I want to amend what I said a bit. Adult education schools, like the Art Institute, are usually no lesser in quality than most other schools. They are a much more professional environment, as far as students are concerned. They don't have that college vibe because they aren't normal colleges, with a bunch of 20 year olds sitting on the lawn and discussing politics and smoking weed and all that other stuff that makes colleges "colleges" (especially art colleges), and hotbeds of intellectual thought and development. But I'd definately recommend any of those type of schools for getting a degree as an adult/professional.
