Once again, hello gamedev. My Game universe has become more complicated over time, and I need your help. (note): It takes place in the future, not a fantasy medieval world. Basically, In my world, there are multiple "planes" or parallel universes in which the forces of physics and nature differ (or are at least discovered in a different order than other planes). There is a “Master Plane” or one that the others must subject to by nature, and there are “OtherPlanes” which live under the rule of the master. There are so many aspects of this I would normally want your critique on, but for now I need only one thing. A Prefix Could some of you creative minds suggest an appropriate prefix that would refer to the “OtherPlanes”? For example, when ecto~ is attached to something, it means ghostly or supernatural. The same with dark~ attached to spells of magic making it seem more evil. Something that sounds good with my futuristic world, like “Physics” would be the study of the master plane’s physics, and “Dark Physics” would refer to the “OtherPlanes”, or something like that. Since they are "under" the rule of the master plane, I guess you could call them the "nether planes"? :)

When you say "Dark Physics" the first association that would come to mind (at least for me) is the study of dark matter, not of other planes. Might not be a good choice due to that effect.

Makes me think of Roger Zelazny's Ambre cycle...

Since they are under the master world, why not call them the "UnderWorlds"?

Under, would I guess imply sub- as a prefix, so subphysics etc. Doesn't quite sound right. paraphysics has a nice ring to it, and conjures up images of telekinesis and other physic-aberrant stuff.

How about Aether? Or perhalps Realm?

Actually, those last two are more of what I was looking for (Thanks Gyrthok). Not nessecarily a 'prefix', but just some word to attatch to the beginning. Thanks all of you, I have a bunch of astetically pleasing prefixes. Sometime, (when I get it organized), I'll post highlights of the game document.

The characters in my game speak Arsynic (priori lexicon), so I might even pick a word from that. :)
