Yet Another Business Model
I just ran across a group called BloodMoney. They plan to set up a service for on-line gaming, wiht the hook being that you can win real cash.
Actually, the players all contribute to a pool which is split amongst the winners. The profit does not come from the pooled cash but instead a small fixed fee attached to each tournament.
So any business profits are independant of whether it''s a high priced and high reward game or a small priced and small reward game.
The numbers in their examples (grain of salt here) suggest a $0.50 fixed fee per participant (business profit) and a $2-8 dollar chunk of money for the pool to be shared by the winners.
Personally, I don''t think it will work. But stranger things have made moolah before. Thoughts? Opinions?
Oh, I am not affiliated with these folks, just ran across them on the web.
