looking for feedback

I put this together relatively quickly and I'd like some ideas on how I could improve it. I have two rough textures using basically the same set of polygons: wireframe: There are limitations with it but I chose this method because I think it's easier than drawing every frame or using 3D models. I'm planning to start animating it soon. Any feedback is appreciated [smile]
I think it'll work great, what kind of improvements are you looking for? If as you mention you're ruling out drawing frames and fully modelling them, I think you've put together exactly what you'll need

I'm just wondering if anything stands out as looking wrong, if the proportions are ok, that kind of stuff. I'll update once I have more to show. Thanks for the reply red_produkt :)
They look good, but maybe some head/hair swaps/animation would be nice.

The hair looks more gradiented(less pixelized) than everything else, and maybe the body parts should be shaded a little more, they're looking slightly bland right now, but other than that they look pretty good!

Thanks guys :) I've made some small changes:

The body texture was getting compressed and that caused some loss of detail, so I made it slightly smaller. I also split the torso in two so it can bend at the waist now. I'm planning to add some extra polys for hair, shoulder armor, cape, and robe/dress/skirt. I'll rearrange the texture to make better use of the space and add a second arm and leg so they don't have to be symmetrical. I'm going to make it possible to customize the character's hair and clothes as well.

Eventually I'll make a 'model' and animation editor so I don't have to use a map editor for all this [lol]

made some progress with my sprite editor, still lots of work to do though:
Looks very neat, are you planning to release the sprite editor when you are finished?

An important feature of the game that I'm planning to make is that it has very simple graphics; people will be able to create content relatively easily and then run their own modded servers. So this sprite editor and other editors I make will be available for anyone to use :) Unless I decide to make people pay for it ;)
very cool!
