Searching for low poly templates
Hi I've drawn some character drafts yesterday and I want to model them. I know that they aren't good, but everyone started with small things. And as I'm normally a programmer, I like my programmer's art :D But after reading some tutorials about modelling, I'm totally confused, because everyone says other things: One time, they model with cubes, other with cylinders. And you can read in every tutorial that the present way is the only true and all others suck (okay, they don't say it directly, but you can read it between the lines :) ) So, back to topic, I only want to know if anyone knows where I can get a simple male/female model with about 600-1000 tris to add my own details to it? I've already looked at the free resources thread, but I couldn't find a good character to add details. Greetings
If you upload your pictures, I will do what I can to give you a base model close to your idea.
Barring that, the advice of 'anonymous poster' above is pretty good. You might also look for the lowpolycoop, which has some good models. (sorry if its the same thing).
Good luck,

Thanks for the link. I thought the polycount site is offline, so I didn't try the forum. The link is also good, but that's not what I'm searching for. I only want a basic male/female body where I can apply my changes.
@slowpid
That's a offer where I can't say no :D
You can find my draws here: click I have only the front and they don't have heads or hands nor feet.

how many poly's? A rough estimate would be nice.
I would say between 1000 and 1500 tris would be okay.
Thank you :)
You didn't say what kind of weapon you wanted with it.
Unfortunately, Im slightly over budget in tri's. This includes a shield, so a weapon will add to this about 100-200.
This is a picture of what I currently have, I dont possess a great amount of time so I modified an existing free model to your picture. When I do final version I will provide everyone with the name of the original artist, people who use the model must credit him.

Here is the model:

Credit must be given to Chris Holden, he can be reached at www.chrisholden.net; it was his free model that I based this one off of; didn't really do much.
The original model can be found here:
