Does anyone know where I can get some demo game levels that I can use for development purposes? I need a loop course that can be used for racing games. I've looked at turbosquid and found some that I like but the all cost over $200. In the future, if my project gets some legs, I'd have no problem paying for them but I need one now that I can use so I can develop the software so it will take off (a little catch-22 anyone?). Does anyone know where I can get one or have one they would let me use? It doesn't need to be a slick looking model or even a finished product just a terrain that I can load and move around in. Thanks in advance for any help.

Well I actually created a 3d race track in the vein of Mario Kart for my previous employer and they may still let me have access to it. It's actually a very complex and interesting layout with several bridges, ramps, tunnels, hills, turns, straight-aways, etc. but it's modeled and textured in a cartoon-like style. If the visual style isn't an issue and you don't plan on using the course in the final product I think it could work well as a test track. If you're interested I can try to post some screenshots.

Or if your project seems interesting enough I might just create a track for it. I love designing and building race courses but I don't know how much time I will have. I'm already working full-time for my current employer on a PS3 title scheduled for release after the console's launch so I might be in a crunch mode pretty soon.

Sounds perfect. It won't be used in any final product. It'll just be used for development to get my project to the next level. At that point I'd be willing to provide compensation for further work and you'd be the first person I'd go to. I've sent a pm with contact details.
