I'm not talking like a profession concept artist . I'm not even 16 yet!so I'm not a pro, but could I get anywhere with this level of skill? heres some of my work: edit: oh my question was do you know where I can find a part-time job as a concept artist for rpgs though, not those other ones :P [Edited by - eatinghappypills on April 16, 2006 6:36:23 PM]
Wow, they look really good- even professional to me- Though I'm not sure there's a market for this type of thing, but I'm no expert.
Also, a quickie HTML lesson < img src="http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/4341/0057lp.jpg ">. Delete the first space before "img" Edit: Lesson learned!

Is there such a thing as a dedicated concept artist anyway? Isn't it more common that the, well, regular artists make concept art early on to establish the look and style, and then moves on to doing, well, actual ingame art?
That said, I think it looks good (Note, I'm not an artist either). I guess it'd be relevant to ask how diverse your skills are though. Would you be able to make some cool concept art for, say, a more or less realistic medieval game? Or your standard D&D'ish RPG? Or a far-future thing with lots of big mechs and guys in power armour? As I said, I'm not an artist, but I'd imagine that'd be a pretty important skill to have. You never know what game you might end up working on, but you're supposed to be able to make it look cool. [wink]
Btw, you can make links. Just have to use html syntax for it (< a href="myurlhere">something witty< /a > without the extra spaces)
Holy crap, this is really good! You've definitely got a lot of potential considering your age. I mean, I would hire you, but then again I have no experience in the professional art (or gaming) world, so I can't say for sure. But from a consumer perspective, I feel like this is very similar to the styles of art you see in game manuals and the like. Defintely looks good to me. Much luck!!
Yes you're on your way . . . also do broaden your artwork to the game genre's of quake, unreal, warcraft, warhammer, ultima and dnd. When your done with your portfolio, your all-set whether it be RPG or futuristic or etc.
What you have here is really good, but I think you need more of a variety in your portfolio. All of these concepts are male hero/protagonsit type drawings. If you want to work as a concept artist, I would strongly suggest you develop some monster/villian concepts. After all, a game usually has a lot more monsters than heros.
Well, if you're able to keep up that level of quality for other types of characters, creatures, or environments, then, yes, you can hope to be a good concept artist [grin].
Part of the problem is that you often aren't the one coming up with the concepts, but you do have to put them down onto paper.
