Hi, don't know if this is the right forum to ask this question but here it goes. We need to render a short trailer in 3d studio max for a game we made in vrml, the official assignment was to create the animations in 3d studio max and export them to vrml but that didn't work out so we are now trying to import a vrml scene with animations written in &#106avascript into 3d studio max. The problem is that 3d studio max does not import the animations (not even those it exported itself), can it be done? The animation we want to import is not interactive, is there an official way to import them? Thanks.
Simply put, no. VRML animations are done through &#106avascript and well, in 3D Studio Max there is MAXscript. I don't think anyone has actually wasted their time in creating a good .wrl to .3ds converter, probably because VRML is a dead technology. I was stoked about it back in '98 - '99, but it never took off. It seems really weird that you would have been assigned to have to use it.
