What would you like to see more of?
I would like to see more games from any genre that are FUN to play. A lot of games today don't hold my attention. I think that a ton of effort now goes into graphics and gameplay/fun factor are sometimes overlooked just to push more pixels.
More Turned-Basedness would be good, I agree
Spearin- Halo has a relatively good emphasis on story, at least compared to games like UT2004[grin]

I'd like to see more co-op FPS/TPS games like Serious Sam. Deathmatch you just can't sit there and drink a beer, munch on some goodies, and chat with friends without getting ur butt kicked. Action games to lounge to. Now that's the life.
Do you think there would be a need to change the accronim of FPS from First Person Shooters to First Person Simulations or FPG (First Person Game). By no means am i sarcastic but i would love to see a good First Person game with alot of story and more than just Guns at my disposal.
In First Person you can do all sorts of things, maybe more puzzle solving that involves the eyes where you need to find clues or read somthing. This might no be fun alone but with the action of gun fights and spear throwing it could make the game more than pickup gun, pull trigger and repeat.
Infact this has enspiored me to open a post on somthing... Look for it!

My wish would be to see more games that LEAVE the "realism".
In my opinion, (nearly) every game today tries to be more and more realistic, and the effect is that - at least graphically - they get closer to each other and every game looks the same.
But also gameplay is getting boring. A friend of mine often says "all games today want to be like GTA. Having a gun, being able to get into every car, etc" and there are no real experiments anymore. Games should be a little bit more individual.
Most games seem to be the products of market research. They all look "what games are asked for the most?" and then produce what's already there. But no one risks to make something new or innovative. But I think they should concentrate on that. Making new games, new ideas, and NOT realism, because this is getting boring.

amen to that ! :D
Games like rez and frequency are so cool yet there is nothing realistic about them.
I'd like to see more old-style 2D games that make use of today's hardware technology to add effects and other things to the game. My wish was granted with Jets N' Guns (this game must be played : website). I currently am making a game in that genre.
About storyline, I'd like to see more really stupid or parodied stories. I think that the games have the problem of wanting that their stories explain everything in the game. Game stories can be a bit unlogical, as long as the story is either captivating or totally nonsense, I think it plays its role.
And I agree that all games are starting to ressemble graphically with the quest for realism.
