Blending Problem

I have encountered a problem! I making the base of a possible 3D game I might start, and at the moment Im playing around with modified code from NeHe''s tutorials to see what sort of stuff I can produce. Well I have used glEnable(GL_BLEND) and glDisable(GL_BLEND) in my 2D games before and it worked fine. Well now I want to add trees by crossing 2 texture mapped quads. But when I enable glBlend the tree looks like this!:

Does any of you have any idea as how to fix this? Any help will be appreciated.
