Yes indeed, your idea probably done its way into the brain of a game designer AND out.

A game developing studio doesn't just have only one game designer, there's probably like 10 of them. Also, game designer is NOT the one that have all the power, the publishers have it all. Do you know why you don't see much innovative games lately? It is because American publishers do not like to take risks to pour in millions of dollors on some innovative game that might not attract players.

The problem with innovative game ideas is that it maybe so different than any other genre that no player are willing to give it to try because they are so used to the traditional genres.
All my posts are based on a setting of Medival Fantasy, unless stated in the post otherwise
Ok, even though it won't help, I will post my ideas in a seperate thread because some of you are curious.
I have wanted to be a car designer for a while now but I'm wondering if maybe I could become a video game animator or writer and maybe work my way up to designer. Does it work like this?

What you might consider doing for your game, is to produce as much content-work as you can on your own, and plug it into an existing game engine... make an old-school 'shareware demo' with limited access to game content, and see if the initial idea flies.

Certainly this is not magically easy, but it is significantly less work than designing/coding your own game engine AND producing a complete game on your own (which is more or less a monumental task, and made all the more difficult if you also aren't a programmer/artist).

Once you have a working demo, I believe there's more of a chance that you might attract coders or artists or content-designers who are interested in your project, and might even donate time to your project, if there is a working proof-of-concept.

It's not impossible to do something on your own, but it IS impossible to start in the deep end of the pool and expect to swim ;)
