Im trying to work on a MMOG (key word trying) Chances are ill fail miserably and go back to playing other peoples games but I like to dream =P. Plus writing the code is good practise and experience for me whether i fail or succeed. All games need an idea so mine is thus. You are a Gnomling a tiny 2 inch person who feeds off what humans leave behind, their trash is your treasure. That Margurita umbrella just became your parachute... That tooth picks your sword... That bottle cap is your shield... I thought it would be neat to have a MMOG where your a tiny person who adventures through a Giant world. Enemies would be like Cochroaches, and the setting might be a bed room or the front lawn. Your weapons and armour could be created from human trash. Imagine waging war under a dresser against savage dust bunnies. Or taking on the all powerful Bug eyed Goldfish? Entire cities wedged between drywall and studs. Or in trees. The Neighborhood is the world, its only huge to you! The little gnomlings could have various styles of mobility such as The grappling hook. Gnomlings are extremely bouncy humanoids. If they focus enough they can jumpfrom the floor onto a desk. and if your really high you could sail down on a paper air plane, or make a parachute from a leaf, or Take a tiny Margurita umbrella and hang from that. So what do you think of your very existance as a tiny person faced with survival amungst a world where everything is bigger than you?
Seems fine. But what you're describing is not inherently an MMO design. Why are you assuming that this needs to be MMO?

Awesome idea, but I think it would be better as a third-person adventure game. (ie Tomb Raider) Plus, online games are harder to coordinate. I like the idea, though. If you put together a team, would you be a programmer, game designer, artist, or writer?
i guess its doesnt have to be a mmog but im writing code for a mmog right now its like an engine or sorta more like a structure, and this is my idea to fill the structure with... i dunno if it will ever be open to the public i just wanted some imput on my idea...

I wouldnt want to make a single player game. I find AI to be very boring why follow a story when you can create your own with a MMOG? Just depends on the person i prefer a setting where what every u can do is up to the player, thats a MMOG, versus a Game where your guided though a story with various missions.
Sounds like an innovative idea, but looks more like a regular RPG, albiet a more original one than most.

Plus the art would be fun

I like that idea! Though MMORPGs are very complicated and difficult. But keep it up, I like the idea!

Sounds like a great concept you have their, but like others have said, not really MMORPG material there. First and foremost because of the technical difficulties of realtime action (action-rpg or adventure game) for which this is best suited
Sounds like the makings for a really cool idea, but I would see it more of an adventure/puzzle game, where you have to try and find your way upto some high spot in the house.

Well, then you could show how a singleplayer game should be done. No one says you have to do it the usual, boring way. [wink]
